Sometimes you want to reply to
a post in a group - and you have the choice to reply to ALL or to just to the
person who posted.
If you use gmail you will see this
option:
to all, or Forward"
What if you don't see this option at
the bottom of the email post from the group ?
Go to your group, and click on the
"Membership" button
When you click on
"Membership" you will see something like this below:
The important thing
to look for is the way you receive email:
The bar in the middle should say:
"Send me an email for every new message (….. )"
If you don't have this option selected then you will not be
given a choice of replying to ALL or replying to ONE (the sender) .
If you receive emails from the group, that have the word
"digest" in the subject line, then you will only have the "Reply
to all" option, but not the "Reply" (to sender) option.
For example: if you receive email such as:
[IACHI 10] Digest for iachi@googlegroups.com - 2
Messages in 2 Topics
Then you will only be offered this choice of reply options:
Your choices of how your receive emails determines your choice of reply options.
You can change your email settings any
time.
If you don't want to get a lot of
individual emails change the settings to
"Daily Summaries"
You can choose other options too:
you can always read things on the web directly, but you will not receive any emails to your inbox. You will still be a member of the group and can still post.
The option: "Send combined updates(25 messages per email)"
means you will get one email ONLY after there are 25 or more messages. That might be a long time for a low activity group. This option is best if you want to just keep an eye on things but don't want to participate actively.
enjoy... its fun (after a while of learning)
